Sunday May 16, 2010 6pm Pacific One of the things that drain a business is duplication of effort and other things that reduce the efficiency of time and other resources. None of us think we do this because we are looking at the big things. But if you look at the little things, you probably are and your staff is probably doing it too. One of my management rules is a little thing I call “Inside before Outside”. This rule has served me my entire career. It means what it sounds like; check your own backyard first. Going outside your own backyard usually involves getting others involved, making the issue more complex and as a result, more costly.
